What is the automatic subtitles feature?
EasyMovie helps clients increase video production through both autonomy and speed.
The automatic subtitles feature helps users in this regard by allowing them to receive, edit and integrate subtitles to their videos automatically, in any language, and in just a few minutes.
On the platform, users can request automatic subtitles on their video. They receive the subtitles after only few minutes, and can edit them directly from the platform.
Subtitled versions are in the 'Manage subtitles' section of the main video project.

Who can use the automatic subtitles feature?
In order to use this feature, your customer and user accounts must have the “order automatic subtitles” permission activated.
If you do not have this feature activated and wish to activate it, please contact your customer success manager or account manager.
When can you use the automatic subtitles feature?
Automatic subtitles are accessible through the EasyMovie platform.
The feature allows users to automatically add subtitles to any video, in many different languages.
You may order automatic subtitles for:
- studio projects with the ‘HD requested’ status
- studio projects with the ‘Completed’ status (if they’ve been complete for less than 6 months)
- auto projects synched to the platform (if they’ve been complete for less than 6 months)
How can I use automatic subtitles?
Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Validate your original version and order automatic subtitles
From the platform, in your project view, once you validate the original version delivered by the studio (‘HD requested’ or “Completed’ status), click on the subtitles button then click on add a subtitle
In the ‘Manage subtitles’ window, indicate the language spoken in the video and the language of your requested subtitles, and select Auto.
You can request multiple subtitles versions by clicking the +Add a subtitle button:
2. Receive and edit your generated subtitles
Only a few minutes after having requested your subtitles (about 1 to 3 minutes), a message will appear letting you know that you subtitles are ready.
In the main project, click the subtitles' section to make your subtitled versions appear, and click the subtitled version you wish to view:
Once in your subtitled project, click 'Review transcript'. You may now view and edit your generated subtitles. You can add, delete, and edit text fields and timecodes manually:
- You can edit the texts.
- You can also change the time-codes of the subtitles
- All your edits are saved automatically.
- Once you are done with the edits, you can click on Validate and your subtitled version will be generated.
3. Receive your subtitled version in HD
A few minutes after having validated you subtitles, your subtitled version can be viewed and downloaded in standard definition.
If your original project in an auto project, the subtitled version is automatically is available a few minutes later in HD.
If your original project is a studio project, the subtitled version is automatically available in HD minutes having received your original version in HD by the studio.
If you wish to download the original version and the subtitles file separately, you may simply download your subtitles as a .SRT file through the button "Download .srt"
